Most BIM managers started in design. I started with general contractors, building BIM departments alongside estimating.

Having spent more than a decade with general contracts, I quickly learned what made a difference for the profit margin on a project.

I founded Pixel BIM to solve a specific problem: General Contractors know they need BIM, but don’t need the overhead and complexity of managing an entirely different technology. We integrate directly with your team providing you the ability to scale your BIM efforts up and down as your projects require.

I have successfully used BIM on a huge range of projects including Legion Veterans Village, Nanak Foods, and UBC Biomedical Sciences building throughout my career where we saw massive successes.

I’ve spent the last seven years as an estimator at some of Vancouver’s top general contractors and subtrades. From glazing and cladding at Flynn Group, where I worked on projects like Telus Ocean’s 100,000 square feet of custom curtain wall, to Scott Construction, where I estimated heritage restorations, BC Housing projects, and institutional builds.

In every one of those roles, I watched the same thing happen: coordination issues that were sitting in the drawings would show up on site as change orders, delays, and difficult conversations. Problems that could have been caught for virtually nothing were costing tens or hundreds of thousands to fix in the field.

That’s why I co-founded Pixel BIM. I know what it’s like to be the estimator looking at a budget that just got blown up by something preventable. I know how PMs talk about coordination, how supers deal with it on the ground, and what trades actually need to build it right.

Created all 3D models, coordination reports, and clash detection where we identified more than 150 clashes and coordination issues.

Assisted Nanak Foods with layout of their plant and custom equipment to ensure all items fit with the optimal layout.

Created all 3D models, coordination reports, clash detection, 4D scheduling, and 5D cost esimating for Scott Construction and the City of Richmond.

We identified 42 coordinatoin issues and clashes resulting in a nearly 600% ROI.

Created a comprehensive coordination report flagging 41 coordination and construcability issues on the IFC Drawing set alone.

Issues uncovered included a missing footing, missing light fixtures, and surface mounted vents hanging alone.
